I have had a dead tooth for two months. Would the dentist need to give me antibiotics before he pulls it?

Question by Natasha: I have had a dead tooth for two months. Would the dentist need to give me antibiotics before he pulls it?
I think bacteria has got in as it stenches underneath the pulp cap. I heard antibiotics don’t get into the tooth (or something like that)? Also does anyone know of someone experienced at extractions and temporary (Maryland) bridges in or near London UK. Thanks.

I would think so, they are worried about someone getting an infection after the tooth is pulled, so if you already have an infection I would say they would give you antibiotics and wait for the infection to go away.
